Dr. Jane Roskams

Dr Jane Roskams is a respected executive leader in academia (Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, UBC and UW), and science/health nonprofits (e.g. Allen Institute, Gates Foundation, Child Mind Institute, Convergent Research). For over two decades, her academic research team published highly multidisciplinary research on cellular and molecular mechanisms of brain repair and regeneration, before she moved to be Executive Director of the Allen Institute in Seattle. Jane's last decade has been dedicated to developing open and team science strategies to drive innovation, and working with nonprofit teams on building platforms for open data sharing and stewardship, interoperability, and analytics. With extensive experience coordinating collaborative projects across federal, biotech, and philanthropic orgs, Jane has become a sought-after key advisor to an extensive public-philanthropic network of science funders. She is currently serving as a strategic Science advisor to Convergent Research and Renaissance Philanthropy to develop new Focused Research organizations, and launch new public-private ambitious collaborative research programs in the UK and Germany.
